This spacious, two storey home
is located close to public transport, shops and services
within a beautiful leafy setting.

Available now,
we have two generous bedrooms
which share a bathroom and lounge area on the first floor.
A Carer's room is provided for staff.
​
Common areas include a combined lounge & dinning,
a well appointed kitchen and laundry
plus an under cover alfresco BBQ area
and workshop space
all set on a beautifully landscaped block.
​
The property is recently renovated and
owned outright so tenancy is secure.
Family
Platypus Lodge is a Co-operative,
run specifically for the benefit of our housemates
by the people that love them.
​
Our families continue to have an important role
without the day-to-day worry of covering shifts and making sure that the fridge is properly stocked.
​
We stay connected by choosing and training staff, programming activities and providing oversight.
​​
Dropping by for lunch or planning a birthday party
as well as scheduling regular family time
is strongly encouraged.
Carers
We are working with our partners,
Abound Supports,
towards the delivery of a
fully NDIS compliant
disability housing service.
They manage and support staff,
liaise with therapists, organise maintenance,
keep the fridge and pantry stocked and
make sure that the place is sparkling clean.
Specialists including Behaviour Support,
Speech and Occupational Therapists
provide ongoing training and support
to ensure consistency
and a best practice approach.
Activities
Building independence is an important step
for any young person.
​
Cooking, cleaning, making the bed, washing clothes and vacuuming are all skills to be mastered
a little more every day.
​
But having fun is important too
so whether it's relaxing with a movie,
singing, dancing, arts and crafts,
swimming or working out,
we've got it covered.
​
And the local area has easy walking tracks,
cozy cafes and plenty of parks
that the whole family can enjoy.
